Planting Information
Lettuce is moderately frost tolerant. Direct seed outdoors as soon as ground can be worked and repeat every 2 weeks throughout the spring for a continuous supply. Thin sowings to a final distance of 12 inches for a full head of lettuce. Optimal germination temperature range 40–70°. Shade cloth can keep lettuce tender and sweet longer into the summer.
Baby lettuce can be cut frequently an inch above the soil for small greens, or plants can be allowed to fully mature into heads and pulled.
