Carrots are cold hardy and can be sown by late April. For a fall crop or winter storage, seed again in early summer. Minimal germination temperature 40°, optimal range 75–85°. Carrots can take up to 3 weeks to germinate and must be kept moist during this time. Thin when plants are 3" high to ½" apart. When plants are 6" tall, thin again to 1-2" apart.
